Ernst, Moselle
Winery Amlinger & Son
Christian and his father Hans-Peter Amlinger stand for dedication, experience and the best wines - from generations of tradition. They and their team put a lot of manual work into cultivating the often steep vineyards around Neef, a small Moselle village in the immediate vicinity of the Bremmer Calmont, the steepest vineyard in Europe. The diversity of the winery is exceptional, with 45 different wine characters to choose from. Father and son's hobbyhorse is red wines, which grow on around 40% of the estate's vineyards. From delicate Riesling to fruity Secco and dense Burgundy, the wines stand for inspiring variety straight from the winemaker.

Winery Thielmann & Schinnen
Jana Thielmann and her cousin Christian Schinnen merged their families' wineries in 2017, true to the motto "2 become 1"! The traditional wineries Josef Thielmann from Ernst an der Mosel and Margaretenhof from Ediger-Eller became the Thielmann & Schinnen winery. Under this joint name and with a new image, Jana and Christian combine tradition with innovation. Precisely because viticulture on the steep slopes of the Moselle is in continuous decline, they have decided to continue along the literally rockier path. Awards such as the 2023 Rhineland-Palatinate Chamber of Agriculture's winning wine show that this path is going steeply upwards for both of them.

Lönartz-Thielmann Winery
2023 Riesling KabinettdryThe family-run Lönartz-Thielmann winery cultivates around 10 hectares of vineyards around Ernst, a neighboring village of Cochem. 40% of the vineyards are on steep slopes. The focus here is on Riesling wines from the steep slopes of Valwiger Herrenberg and Bruttiger Götterlay. There are also grape varieties such as Pinot Noir, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris and Chardonnay, which complement the range very well thanks to their somewhat milder acidity. In summer, guests can enjoy the high-quality wines in the winery's wine tavern in the center of Ernst an der Terrassenmosel. Snacks from the winegrower's kitchen complete the offer. Wine tasting and sales are also possible at any time by appointment or during opening hours.

At the winery, you can experience, enjoy and, of course, buy wine. In addition to award-winning wines, the wine store always has a selection of gift ideas relating to wine and good things from the region.
